Impact Campaign

Join the Movement for Equality

Still Working 9 to 5 campaign advocates for equality, dignity, and advancement in the workplace for all women, tackling persistent challenges from equal pay, job advancement, and sexual harassment to childcare and the evolving gig economy.

The Problem

Persistent Inequality in the Workplace

Despite significant strides since the 1980s, women still face deep-seated challenges in the workplace. This feature length documentary calls to attention the issues that have plagued working women for decades, including the ongoing battle for fairness and recognition.

Issues Addressed in the Film:

Equal Pay Disparity: Women, especially women of color, still earn significantly less than their male counterparts. This wage gap remains a major issue in both the US, UK, and many countries around the world.

Career Advancement Barriers: Systemic obstacles continue to block women’s progression into leadership roles, making equal opportunities for promotion hard to achieve.

Sexual Harassment and Workplace Safety: Many women still struggle to find a safe and respectful work environment. Sexual harassment is prevalent, and reporting mechanisms are often inadequate.

Childcare and Maternity Support: The lack of affordable childcare and comprehensive maternity policies disproportionately affects working mothers, hindering their ability to succeed and thrive in their careers.

The Gig Economy: The rise of gig work has brought new challenges, such as the absence of traditional HR support, benefits, and job security, further complicating the landscape for women workers.

Campaign Initiatives

Raise Awareness

Raise awareness about the persistent challenges and inequalities women face in the workplace. Even though 38 states have ratified the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), meeting the 3/4ths requirement, it has yet to be included in the Constitution. This underscores a bitter reality: women are not yet fully and equitably recognized, reflecting a broader societal failure to value and empower half the population.

Advocate

Advocate for policy changes that address equal pay, workplace safety, and gender equality, including the publication of the Equal Rights Amendment.

Educate

Educate people about the historical context and ongoing struggle for gender equality.
